Pets without Parents, a no-kill animal shelter located in Clintonville, was one of the first causes that we were lucky enough to partner with. While Candle with a Cause was just getting started during the beginning of this partnership, Pets without Parents has been helping find homes for dogs and cats for over 10 years. We were able to sit down for some Q&A with Meg Long recently.
Q: Tell us a little about yourself and Pets without Parents.
A: I'm a volunteer coordinator at Pets without Parents which is a no-kill, all-breed dog and cat shelter. We've been here for 10 years and in that time we've found homes for over 5,600 dogs and cats.

Q: In general, what were your initial feelings when the opportunity for a partnership was proposed.
A: We are always interested in new ways to do fundraising for the shelter to raise awareness through different means, so we were excited for this project.

Q: Where can people find out more about Pets without Parents.
A: We have our own website at www.petswithoutparents.net. We are also on Facebook and Twitter. Through the community we hold a lot of events to bring people out, some animal related, some not. On June 25th we will be hosting "Run with the Pack - 5k" at the Scioto Audubon Metro Park in German Village.
Thanks to Meg Long and the rest of the dedicated staff at Pets without Parents for making our community a brighter place. Click here for more information on the Run with the Pack 5k.

A few of us recently participated in the Jack Roth Rock n Run 5k which ran throughout the historic Bexley community. Kani Brown represented Candle with a Cause proudly with a time of 19 minutes, and Dave Colina wasn't too far behind him at 25 minutes! We had a blast at the event, and it was great to see so many people coming together for such a great cause. This partnership would have not been possible if it wasn't for Maren Roth and everyone else behind the Jack Roth Memorial Fund. We thank Maren and her team for bringing us on board, and we look forward to teaming up again next year!
